Grassley suggests:
“I suggest, you know, obviously, maybe they ought to be removed. But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they’d follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I’m sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide. And in the case of the Japanese, they usually commit suicide before they make any apology.”

I agree with this idea. I’d be perfectly happy with the US government taking over the banks and letting every single one of those idiots be jobless for the next couple years.

I approve of the sentiments of the OP. Win.
@Phyreblade:
But then we’d just have idiots in the place of other idiots. What’s the difference?
@RSIxidor: Errm… Centralized idiocy as opposed to distributed idiocy? I think the former is a little easier control if you get the right person at the helm… But I’m just spitballin’ here…
God damned hypocritical Congress and Senate. It’s really honestly their fault this is happening– what did they expect when it was written into the bill specifically that AIG did not have to renegotiate their contracts? This happened 3 months ago. Aren’t they a little late to start throwing around the insults and glib remarks?
That’s not to say that I don’t hope every single beneficiary of this bonus cash dies of shame. The public outrage may be slightly misplaced, but hopefully it’ll do the job of offing Marie-Antoinette’s head for future bailout madness.
