A Letter to Rush Limbaugh

bilde A Letter to Rush Limbaugh

You should be horse-whipped for the insult you have paid to the highest office of our nation.

Having followed President Obama’s suggestion and donated money to the Red Cross for relief in Haiti, I was offended to hear you suggest the President might be a thief capable of stealing money intended for the earthquake victims.

  1. I thought enough people agreed on him being mentally retarded. Well that’s how I think of him so I only pity him but I’m not too angry. Him being allowed to have such a wide audience is a little concerning though.
So I just read the transcript and that is clearly libel. In my country I could sue anyone for claiming something like that about me, and probably win too. At least there are well known people who speak out against it.

    1. That’s what bothers me. Who believes this, and believes it so strongly? More concerning is how many listen, millions…tens of millions. Clearly there is a real disconnect going on in the US. Frankly, it scares me. I’ve got this feeling that things are spinning out of control, but thinking that way is what gives people like Limbaugh their following. I don’t want to find myself blindly following Olbermann or Maddow, frothing at the mouth about everything the Right does..
In the US, a public person (celebrity, politician, writer, etc…) will have a very difficult time suing for libel or defamation. We, more or less, require our famous people to take anything anyone says about them. In less serious times, it’s a lot of fun.

      1. Really that many? But isn’t his show part of some daily Fox News cycle where people will just continue watching the same channel even if his insane visage shows up. And how many republican channels are there, aside from people like Rush and the like, isn’t Fox the only source that will satisfy them? Or do Americans usually watch both, Fox and CNN no matter what their political beliefs are.
Oh yeah you’re right, I did notice that about America. And I guess if Obama did sue him it would cause even worse publicity for him than what Rush originally claimed. In case Limbaugh ever finds out that he was wrong, I think he should at least clarify that somewhere. But then I can’t really remember celebrities like this ever correcting themselves on anything.

          1. Its 3 hours a day. I used to work at a place were they would listen to it all afternoon.
The trick is that his production company gives away the broadcast to affiliate stations. So its basically free money for anyone who has a AM broadcasting station and can get at least one advertiser.
