hulk Hulk Confirmed for Avengers Movie

So by the time ‘The Avengers’ comes in 2012, it’s not just a team superhero movie with a bunch of characters with powers. It’s three people – four including the Hulk; five including Nick Fury – who you’ve seen before in other movies, coming together for the very first time.

This makes me a very very happy comic book fan right now.  They’re going to have most of the original Avengers here.  Wonder who the big bad will end up being?  IIRC, Loki was the one that brought them all together in Avengers #1

  1. The Hulk? At the end of the movie Tony Stark came to General Ross and said “I hear you got a problem” and then said “we’re putting a team together”

Then again Tim Roth said he’s signed up for two movies.

  2. Soooooo, maybe it is the comic book nerd in me but here I go:

I don’t know who they think the three heroes are going to be but the original team consisted of Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man and The Wasp. They were trying to take down a berserker Hulk confused and influenced by Thor’s evil brother Loki. I believe that would make a great fucking movie, and would be a great start to an Avenger franchise.

That said I love Captain America, probably my favorite hero. Although the Cap didn’t participate in the Avengers initial line up to many he is the Avengers, so I would love to see him in the flick.

My main concern is getting the Pyms in there, they could easily be overlooked and I think that would be a huge disservice to the source material.

In my perfect little nerd world I would love to see the Avengers movie be adapted from the fantastic Mark Millar/Bryan Hitch Ultimates comics. It the movie could be just half as good as the first two volumes of that series it would be a monster success, and still maintain the spirit of the source material.

There, I said my piece and it was cathartic. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
