Fresh off a dramatic victory in which it retook the House leadership, the Republican Party intends to hold major hearings probing the supposed “scientific fraud” behind global warming.
God Dammit, I really do hope for 2 ‘third party’ parties to come to the table. On one side, the progressives with their liberal social agenda and conservative financial stance, and the Tea Partiers with their batshit crazy “I don’t care if science has proven it, I ain’t gonna believe it” stance.

Thank god these elected officials who don’t have the prerequisites to have an opinion on this are going to be hard at work disproving it rather than making jobs, fixing the economy, getting rid of the deficit, fixing our failing infrastructure, curbing the growing Al Qaeda problem in Yemen, ending a war or two, shutting down Gitmo, or finding Bin Laden.
I don’t understand this. I have friends that are repubs and believe this crap. They’re not stupid, so how can they believe that global warming is a hoax, not caused by us, not as bad as the scientists say, etc…I just don’t get it. It’s also frustrating me to no end. I won’t even debate it anymore; they’re wrong and that’s the end of it. I know that it doesn’t help and that it may actually be making it worse, simply because it makes it seem like I’m using the same argument technique that they’re using.
What do you guys do when hanging out w/ your repub friends and family and these topics come up?
