This is not for people who are uncomfortable with very graphic animal slaughter.
…The terms halal and haram are applied to many facets of life; and one of the most common uses of these terms is in reference to meat products, food contact materials, and pharmaceuticals. In Islam there are many things that are clearly halal or haram. There are also items which are not as clear, and for which further information is needed. Items that are not clear are called mashbooh, which means “questionable”.
In Islam, forbidden items include pork and all its products; animals improperly slaughtered; alcoholic drinks, including all forms of intoxicants; carnivorous animals; birds of prey; and any food contaminated with any of these products.
Dhabiha: method of slaughter:
?ab??ah (?????????) is the prescribed method of slaughtering all animals excluding fish and most sea-life per Islamic law. This method of slaughtering animals consists of a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife that cut the front of the throat, the carotid artery, wind pipe and jugular veins but leave the spinal cord intact.[2] The objective of this technique is to more effectively drain the body of the animal’s blood, resulting in “more hygienic” meat.
Is this really much worse than what we do?

Oh yes. This is definitely much worse. We knock the animals unconscious first, so they are not flailing around in agony while their terrified brains take a few minutes to die.
I love my meat. I do not need my meat to have suffered in it’s transformation. That is sadism.
Personally, if I could afford it, I would only eat meat given a life of simple pleasure and killed painlessly in it’s sleep by professional ninja-butchers. What do they call that stuff again? Kope beef or something like that?
